Great Bodyweight Workout Using a Park Bench
I don't know about you, but I see a lot of moms and dads sitting on park benches watching their kids climb and run on the playground. Some of these parents might even, oh, I don't know - take a glance at their smartphone every once in a while? Maybe even send a text or two (or ten)? Or check Facebook for the 30th time in 5 minutes? Sound familiar? We've all been there.
I know some of these quiet (and rare) moments can be invaluable for a busy mom or dad, but I also want to suggest that we use this down time to stay in shape with a fun bodyweight workout that uses nothing more than a park bench.
I know I've found myself sitting on a park bench for 25 minutes watching my 4-year gallop around - only to complain later in the day that "I just had no time to work out today". Oh, really? What about the 25 minutes at the park? I could have had a great bodyweight workout right then and there.
Check out this video for some ideas on how to incorporate some basic bodyweight exercises into your typical day at the park. Yes, you may get some double-takes from some parents at the playground, but I wouldn't worry about it - they have more important things to worry about - like the text tone that just went off.
